Grade 1

We offer tutoring and homework help to Grade 1 students to give them that strong start they need towards academic success. At this level, we mainly focus on Mathematics, English Language and Science as our core subjects in our tutoring services, but also provide help in other subjects. In Mathematics, emphasis is placed on developing competencies in numeration, algebra, data management, measurement, spatial sense and financial literacy in accordance with the Ontario Curriculum. In English, we develop skills in writing, reading, comprehension and poetry. In Science, we focus on living things, materials and objects, energy and seasonal changes as outlined in . Our teaching method and tutoring services are tailored to each students’ learning style and pace, and we strive to have each student feeling empowered to take control of his/her own learning.

Grade 2

Our Grade 2 tutoring system ensures that every student receives the help necessary to develop the skills required for matriculation to Grade 3. These skills may either be: missing, or not consolidated from Grade 1 or difficult for the student. However, we ensure that learning plans are designed to continue the development of foundations in numeration, algebra, data management, spatial sense, measurement and financial literacy for Mathematics; reading, writing, media literacy, comprehension and poetry for English; growth and changes in animals, movement, properties of liquids and solids, and air, water and the environment for Science. These make up the tutoring services that we offer in Grade 2.

These represent the list of tutoring services offered in Grade 4.

Grade 5

In Grade 5, we encourage students to practice critical thinking and make connections to real world applications. This requires the use of foundational knowledge from lower grades and critical thinking skills developed at this grade. In the event that a student is lacking this foundational knowledge, we offer help by revisiting skills missed in grades 3 and 4 and integrating a prescriptive for the student into their tutoring learning plan. In Mathematics, it is important to build upon: numeration, algebra, data management, spatial sense, measurement and financial literacy. In English, students are expected to develop proper form in: reading, writing, media literacy, comprehension and poetry. In science it is important to grasp the concepts of the human organ systems, forces, matter, and conservation of energy. Our tutoring services aim to have students master these key concepts for enrollment in Grade 6.

Grade 6

In Grade 6, we introduce a broader spectrum of tutoring methods geared at having students understand topic specific ideas and having them grasp a general overview of the subject matter. These methods are similar to the style used in the classroom; however, uses a more personalized approach, where students are able to work at a pace conducive to their learning. Our tutoring services include a spectrum of topics in mathematics, English Language and science. In Mathematics, we cover numeration, algebra, data, measurement and spatial sense and financial literacy as our main focus in tutoring. In English, we cover reading, comprehension, poetry and writing including: vocabulary, grammar and diction. In Science, we cover biodiversity, flight, electricity and space.
